In the last year, Michigan farmers used conservation tillage to prevent soil erosion and sediment runoff from more than 3.2 million acres of farmland—more than half of the total planted acres in the state.  In the last year, Michigan farmers saved more than $25 million in fertilizer costs by recycling nutrients back into the soil. 

 

“This soil is important to us.  It’s our livelihood.  Abusing it is unthinkable.  It just wouldn’t make sense.  We’re raising a family on this farm soil.”
